My name is Elena Montero, I am 46. I am from Peru. I hold a BA in Education with a focus on EFL and an ECPE diploma from the University of Michigan. I have been an English Teacher for about 16 years and then I was appointed Academic Supervisor about 4 years ago in the biggest Peruvian-American Binational Center in Latin America. Part of my duties there is to prepare seminars to train new teachers and to help in service teachers develop professionally. I have attended seminars, conferences and conventions inside as well as outside the country such as the Annual TESOL Convention. I have also worked for a private school as a teacher and I soon got in charge of the English Department as a coordinator. I strongly believe in continuous professional development and life long learning, evidence of which is the large number of courses taken on line with TESOL, UMBC, OAS, and also prestigious specialists in the field of teaching who come to our institution almost every month. At this point of my life I am studying to get my MA in Administration of Educational Institutions with the Tecnologico de Monterrey. I see myself as professional, responsible, creative, problem solver, team worker, well-organized and totally committed to what I engage in.
