Personalised tuition for your needs - please get in touch!- UK Qualified Secondary Science Teacher (PGCE and QTS) (2010)
- Experienced private tutor (since 2008)
- Specialising in exam preparation as an exam assessor (since 2013)
- Offering Biology and Chemistry to A-level, Physics to GCSE, and Applied Science Btec Levels 2 and 3. Also offering Maths to GCSE.
I qualified from Imperial College London with a BSc in Zoology in 2007, and began tutoring learners at home the following year. I have taught high school science in a number of different secondary schools in London, UK, since 2010. The last two years I've assessed iGCSE and A-level exams, and also taught English as a Foreign Language through Embassy Summer Schools. I am looking forward to teaching online through Tutors Live, especially the challenge of teaching students from countries outside of the UK!
My tutoring style is to first identify where there are gaps in the student's knowledge, whilst simultaneously figuring out how they learn best. I then work to fill those gaps using problem-solving techniques and resources that suit the student's learning style. I build up good rapport with my students and challenge them without adding to academic pressure that they feel from school and/or home.

Experience: I started tutoring in 2008, and then became a teaching assistant in 2009. Later that year I enrolled on the PGCE for Secondary Science at Roehampton University, which included two school teaching placements. Once I graduated I was employed immediately by one of those schools, and I have been teaching in London since. In 2013 I was lucky enough to be recruited to mark exam papers for AQA and Edexcel, two of the biggest UK exam boards, which I continued to do in 2014. I also taught English as a Foreign Language to students from across the globe with Embassy Summer Schools in residential placements in and around London.
