Hello! I am PhD Candidate in History at the University of California, Berkeley, but am currently living in London and writing my dissertation on the British Empire in India in the late 18th Century. I have spent the last two years at Berkeley teaching undergraduate History courses and I love teaching, hence why I am tutoring here in London. I went to graduate school because I am passionate about both learning and teaching, whether this takes place at home, in a classroom, or at an international conference.

My specialist subjects in which I have the most experience are History, English and Writing, up to and including Masters Degree level. I have 7 years experience private tutoring in a diverse range of subjects in New York and London, and 6 years teaching History and Italian at the University level. I was a private tutor working for a top agency in New York City, where I worked with a range of students from those at elite college preparatory schools to those with high-functioning Autism.

I believe the tutor provides a bridge between the individual and institutional ways of learning. Tutoring is a collaborative project and should be a dialectical process. The first thing I do when I meet a student is ask them to tell me what they know and what they need help with. Ultimately, my goal is for them to become the teacher or expert on the subject or exam, and thus be able to communicate their knowledge with confidence and skill.
