My approach to teaching is that I believe that lots of example is a good start. First I will introduce the idea so the student slowly becomes familiar with the it. Then I will give them examples on how to approach the problem. Then I would ask them to do it (normally as homework) for the next lesson. Afterwards, I will provide feedback and obviously award them with a small prize if they get it all correct. I would go through the questions that they have got wrong and discuss with them why they found that difficult or what they found confusing to gain a better understanding and hopefully be able to discuss where the problem lies.
